Getting visa

I am having an impossible time contacting a Russian consulate. I emailed them a week ago ,and called the one in Macedonia,where I am now,and NY. No response, and no one answers the phone. I called during the listed hours. Are they even taking applications,or have they suspended this ? I was hoping to check out Sochi as a place to possibly move to,but I have a limited window of time. Any help will be appreciated.

Skippy If youre serious, I'd go to Serbia and find a highly rated travel agency and try that. And you'll have direct flights to Sochi from Belgrade. Otherwise you might need to return to the US (if youre a US citizen) to apply for a visa.

Typically you are required to apply in the country of your citizenship, not abroad. I did however find a travel agency who was able to process a single entry visa for me when I was in Latvia years ago. So maybe start asking a high traffic travel agency wherever you are. Contacting a Embassy/Consulate will likely just get a generic response. You could also use a visa processing company like CIBT.
