Hello. I'm trying to plan on how to travel between Kazan and Volgograd. I plan to stop in cities like Samara and Saratov. My first thought was by train but that seems long and slow and indirect. I did find the option of a river cruise but not sure I want to make quick stops in each place. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with moving up or down the Volga River by boat? I see the option for a full cruise experience but is it possible to just transport between cities on the river? I'm hoping to go to numerous places from Sochi to Moscow, or visa versa. Flying to Kazan and heading south was my original plan but now I see trains do not run along the river apparently. Thank you.
