how to prove absence of Russian citizenship

Greetings,

I'm applying for US tourist visa as a US citizen. I was born in Russia, and emigrated when I was 10 years old, with my father in 1991. I never had a Russian passport. I think I was included in my dad's passport. I don't have that document as we moved many times before my dad died in 2016, and I've moved several times since then. How do I prove I'm not a Russian citizen to the US Consulate. My appt is in a few days!

Im not a immigration or border control agent... but some of the story doesnt make sense. Do you mean you've applied for a Russian tourist visa?

yes, i'm applying for the russian tourist visa, as I only have a US passport and citizenship. i was born in russia and immigrated as a child with one of my parents. i never had my own passport before then.

nins1024 You dont have to prove that you're not Russian citizen to the Americans. The trouble that may happen is if you have the birth place on your US passport as Russia. Explaining that to the Russian authorities.

I would reccomend contacting a Russian lawyer and seing what is the steps / concerns etc etc. I know of the Braiden Consultants [they're on Telegram] who are located in Moscow.

Overall I dont see too much of an issue as you would be arriving as a US citizen, but for the clarity and ease of mind, I would contact an actual person who would know more of the ins and outs of your particular situation.

What country do you want to go to USA or Russia?
