The hotel manager says that she needs to take my passport and migration card to the post office to be registered. She also said she would leave me with copies and will keep the originals in the safe until I retrieve them. I have always been told that I must keep my passport on me at all times.
Is she right?

@Lotto Usually, the hotel makes copies of your passport for registration and returns the original passport to you, not the other way around, that is, it gives you the copies and the hotel keeps the original. Keep in mind that the passport is a personal and non-transferable document.
