I am confused with the 90/180 day rule. I entered Russia June 7 2025. I left Russia September 23 flew to Armenia and returned on September 25. I am currently in Russia living with my fiance, we rent an apartment.

Am I in violation of this rule?

I thought I could leave every 90 days for 24 hours and I would be in compliance.

@lee19k24 Without knowing your visa type or nationality, if you are bound by a 90 days within 180 days rule, then yes you’re in violation.

Leaving for 24 hours only resets if you have a 3 year, multi-entry visa that allows for up to 6 months per stay. With that said; you left Russia well after your 90 days and if they didnt say anything, they likely won’t again if you have a new entry stamp for September 25. But assuming all of the above, you have overstayed your visa.

Your 180 days began June 7, you are only allowed 90 days with the next 180 (or roughly December 7.) A reset on that visa type would make the rule moot.

@lee19k24 You replied in 2024 about having a 3 year multi-entry visa. Are you sure you are under the 90/180 rule? It should say right on your visa. I’m using a USA passport, with a 3 year multi-entry, and I have unlimited stays up to 6 months per visit, and yes, a exit/entry for 24 hours resets for a new 6 months.

@lee19k24 I’d look closer at your visa in your passport, you are likely allowed 6 months per visit, leaving for 24 hours would reset for a new 6 months.

I just looked at mine, and written in Russian at the bottom of the visa it says “Continuous stay up to 6 months.”
