# The Revout card

You have stated that “Once in Russia, I use my Revolut card for all purchases except for those places that do not accept them (kiosks, small shops …). It is much easier to use a card than it is to waste time having to go to banks in Moscow to change for rubles. Moreover, the cost is similar.”

Q1: Is it my understanding that Revolut card cannot be used by Westerners, i.e, Americans because of Sanctions and it is best to start an account at a Bank in Russia?  
Q2: If I cannot use Revolut in Russa and make an account through a Russian bank. I must also conclude that I must close the account when I leave or believe in returning I can reopen the account. Then I begin to also think that Banks will change me for holding the account!?

@Lou Currently Revolut card does not work in Russia. You need to take cash
