I was recently in Moscow for the first time, at the end of February of 2026. All went smooth…I was questioned at passport control, pretty thoroughly for a combined 46 minutes or so by two separate officers, but allowed entry with no problems.

My fiancé lives in Moscow and we are in the process of waiting for her K-1 visa to be approved…which might take up to a year at the current rate. I want to be able to visit with her at least every few months, but we are concerned that frequent visits will raise a red flag or be seen as suspicious. I answered all questions at passport control honestly, and intend to continue to do so. SO if anyone has any feedback as to any issues with visiting Avery few months.

Thank you!

I am a UK passport holder married to a Russian national and have lived and travelled across land and airport borders since 2022 into Russia with very little issue. I only left with my wife recently due to the impossible situation of VPN and money transfers. Visiting your fiance is no issue for short times but be prepared for Internet and VPN and money issues daily. Travel across the border with the correct visa is the least of your issues.

Thank you! This is very helpful. How frequently were you visiting?

I’ve not only visited but lived in the country for the last 5 years and have made numerous entries in that time. I recently left for Georgia as it has become impossible to work and live within the country given sanctions and government Internet restrictions.
