I get Social Security and want to receive it in Russia. Apparently Social Security uses a program call International Direct Deposit to deposit benefits into Russian bank accounts but there are some issues:
- the Russian bank must have SWIFT access
- the Russian bank must not be sanctioned by the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control
- some banks have very high fees for USD deposits (Raiffeisen Bank charges 50%!)
What are some banks that can be used to receive Social Security and have good customer service for English-speakers?
