I have read that individuals who travel to Russia will have their personal identity checked on their mobile phones to check for anything having to do with Ukraine such as news on WhatsApp etc. Is this true do I need to delete any information such as a YouTube video or news cast.

Although most countries warn about this I have personally never experienced across any border in the last 2 years.
There’s a difference between viewing the news, compared to posting about supporting either side.
Regardless, confiscation is when authorities take & keep property. Checking a phone is NOT confiscation.
