Safe Travel to Russia for Russian Citizens and Naturalized US Citizen

Is it safe to travel to Russia now if my wife Marina is a Russian born citizen and a naturalized US citizen?
She bought a ticket via Abu Dabi and I’m hoping she’ll l be able to return to the US. Any advice you can provide is greatly appreciated.

@rchador people with dual nationality must enter Russia on their Russian international passport. This is great because dual nationals only need passports.

Given the current geopolitical situation, traveling to Russia and back to the U.S. can be risky, especially for someone with dual citizenship. Russian authorities may treat your wife as a Russian citizen despite her U.S. naturalization, which could complicate her ability to leave the country. U.S. citizens are advised to reconsider traveling to Russia due to security risks and limited consular support. It’s essential to check with the U.S. embassy and the airline about any travel restrictions, especially regarding layovers in Abu Dhabi, and ensure all travel documents are in order. Always stay updated on travel advisories and be prepared for potential disruptions.
