Safety in St. Petersburg

Hello there!
I am planning my trip to Russia this year. Considering the situation in Europe, espiecially in Poland, I have a feeling that even though I’m neutral in political situation, everyone told me that as a Pole I would be arrested, that i would be follow etc etc. I know Russian language on a extrordinary level, so maybe it will makes it ligher? From my perspective I can say, that I don’t really believe what people are saying in my country cuz they didn’t do any resarch. but still i have some hesitations. Do someone know if it would be safe for me to travel to Russia as a Pole? Does someone have an experience or informations if there were some polish people recently? It’s my dream to visit Russia and i want to make it come true this year. I will be sooooo greatful for any help

You are safe as long as you follow Russian law.
There is no restriction on visa I think, but airspace is opened or close don’t know about that.

@DrQusaiHamid there are not any problems with visa at all. Airspace is closed, but it’s not a problem as well. Just need to fly through Istanbul. Thanks for your comment

@Krasiu The youtube channel “Through The Eyes Of” by a young polish lady blogger Ania K who has travelled to Russia will be of great help.

@Kaiama thanks for your comment!!! I’ve messaged her. Maybe I’ll find out more there :hugs:

I can only speak as a US Citizen who visited Russia. My fellow Americans said similar things (that I would be arrested or at the very least treated poorly) but nothing of the sort happened. Everything and everyone were great. I was in a big city, though. My advice would be to not talk politics or to risk offending their sensibilities. Don’t discuss things such as WWII, Polish history, Russian history as it related to politics or war, Polish politics, Russian politics, the Special Military Operation, criticizing their leader, etc., as these things can elicit strong feelings from Russians and having a differing viewpoint might cause offense to them. Even if they say it, don’t agree with them because they often think that nobody is allowed to criticize Russia except for Russians.

@Lotto this is such a vast information for me!!! Thanks a lot. For sure I won’t discuss politics nor attending any meetings while visiting Russia. Thanks once again for your comment. It makes me less nervous :grimacing:
