Sth Africa/UK citizen, Russian family visit Moscow, visa/registration.

Dear Irina,

Thank you for your amazing site and such valuable information, you do such a great thing for so many people.

I am a dual South African / UK citizen, residing permanently in the UK with my wife, who is a dual Russian / UK citizen.

My wife’s family live in Moscow.

Am I correct in thinking that I can go to Russia to visit my family, without a visa, if I use my South African passport?

If so, and when I am there, how can I do the registration? Would I have to “stay at” a hotel and get the hotel to do it for me? Or can my family do it for me? (They say it would be very difficult for them).

Also, if I stay in Russia, with my family, for less than 7 business days (i.e. up to 9 days), do I have to register at all?

Kind regards
Jono.

@Jono Yes, you don’t need visa with your South African passport. Your family can register you at any post office.
