Visa Invite Address

Hi, I’m just curious, I’ve received my Tourist Visa, and on it states the company for my tourist invite. I am planning on going to Moscow but on the Visa, the tourist visa company’s address states St. Petersburg. Will this cause any issues if I am in Moscow and not St. Petersburg? Will I be questioned about this at entry to the country?

I got my tourist invite from iVisaonline.com and stated the hotel in Moscow in which planned to stay at, as well as on the visa application itself stated a hotel in Moscow, which were all approved, I’m ready to go.

I know this is probably me being paranoid but just wanted some reassurance that it’s all fine.

And on another side note, if I’ve stated that I wish to stay in Moscow for my trip on the application, but I decide I want to travel to another city (obviously a safe one that isn’t suspicious for me to go to) this is permitted?

People always panic about these registration addresses, in all my 5 years here nobody ever looks and as long as you have some form of registration within a few days on arrival you are fine.

@phoebe To my understanding everything would be fine, I guess I’m asking if there’s any need to be worried that St. Petersburg is written on my passport when I am landing in Moscow, when I’m questioned for example

Not a problem. When you apply for the visa you need to provide this information but once the visa is issued, plans can change. Especially given the current state of travel. Even the entry date used on the visa application isn’t firm once the visa is issued. I think it actually says that on the official Russia visa application website.

I would not play around with entering before or leaving after the visa duration. There was a story on a different chat group that the person arrived 2 days before his visa started and was turned away. Your milage may vary, but be prepared to face the consequences if you try.

I shouldve made that clear. The entry date used for the visa is set as first possible entry, but entering later is no issue.
